Empty Movement is an Utena fansite located at www.ohtori.nu. It is among the oldest "live" Utena fansites and is the unofficial home of most of the English-speaking online fandom. The site was established in 2000 by Giovanna, and since 2003 has been run jointly by Gio and Yasha. Site features include:

  • In the Rose Garden, an active Utena forum which went live in 2006, boasting over 500 users and 100,000 posts
  • By far the Web's most extensive gallery of images and screencaps from the Shoujo Kakumei Utena anime, movie, and miscellaneous media
  • A collection of analysis essays written by Gio, Yasha, and others on topics ranging from symbolism in Tainai Tokei Toshi Orrery to spankings
  • Translations of the anime episodes, hosted on behalf of the now-defunct Utena Encyclopedia
  • Interviews with the creators of Utena, some of them retrieved from the Wayback Machine and available nowhere else on the Net
  • The Audiology section that features vast amount of information on the music of Utena with the occasional appearance of rare music from the series
  • Shrines to Ohtori Akio and Mrs. Ohtori
  • Lots more

Empty Movement takes its name from a phrase in the song Virtual Star Hasseigaku, Saionji's final duel theme and the ending theme for the final two arcs of the anime.
